3-Day Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale from Kigali

Embark on an unforgettable primate-focused journey from Rwanda’s bustling capital to Uganda’s lush rainforests, where Kibale National Park awaits as one of Africa’s premier destinations for chimpanzee trekking.

This compact yet immersive 3-day adventure begins with a scenic cross-border drive through Rwanda’s terraced hills and Uganda’s verdant countryside, leading you to a tropical paradise teeming with biodiversity. Kibale’s dense forest canopy shelters 13 primate species, including over 1,500 wild chimpanzees—our closest genetic relatives. Your encounter with these intelligent, charismatic creatures during an exhilarating trek through the jungle will be the trip’s highlight, offering intimate moments of observation as they feed, play, and communicate in their natural habitat.

Beyond chimps, the park’s rich ecosystem reveals rare birds, colorful butterflies, and other primates like red colobus monkeys. The itinerary balances adventure with cultural insights, including optional visits to local communities or crater lakes. With comfortable lodge accommodations nestled near the forest edge, each evening ends with the sounds of the wilderness, making this short but impactful journey perfect for primate enthusiasts and nature lovers seeking a deep connection with Uganda’s wild heart.
